jackamus Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Is there an easy way to list or catalogue typefaces in their families? E.G. Serif, Non-serif, Script, decorative etc. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools. jackamus Posted January 15, 2023 Author Posted January 15, 2023 Thanks Paolo, Next question - how do I create a 'smart folder'? Is this something I can do in AD? jackamus Posted January 15, 2023 Author Posted January 15, 2023 OK. I'm to to assume that 'FontBook' is an app. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! I'm to to assume that 'FontBook' is an app. You assumed right, and to be more specific it's part of your Apple MacOS installment (an by Apple always supplied app) and thus comes along with your Mac OS Mojave system. - You maybe should once inspect what apps do already come along with your MacOS system and thus are part of it !!! Other than that see: Font Book User Guide ... etc. Beside that a common Google search after "font book" would have told you too! jackamus Posted January 15, 2023 Author Posted January 15, 2023 I've looked at several videos etc on how to organize my fonts and they all seem to focus on creating a new font list and dragging fonts into it. This is very laborious if all I want is to collect all 'Non-serif' fonts into one folder without having to drag each one separately. Is this possible? Is this possible? Right click in the space below the font listings, you may need to go to View > Show Sidebar. Right click on the little cog wheel to the left of the Name of your new Smart Collection. Choose Edit Smart Collection. Set it up like this And once your restart Designer/Photo/Publisher you will see (in the Character panel and the Text Styles panel but not in the drop down list in the Context Toolbar) Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Once you have created your wanted sets in FontBook you can access them in Affinity in the Character panel > Font Collection menu to make them affecting the Font Family menus in Affinity, which will display either "All Fonts" or only 1 selected collection, below my custom "_Handwriting" set for instance. –> –> Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
