Grimmjow80 Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I don't know is it bug or purpose behavior, but when I Select Object or Select Same with Select Hidden Objects deselected, objects witch are in hidden groups, but their visibility in layer panel is set as visible, are selected. To exclude them from automatic selection, I have to find them in layer panel and change their visibility to hidden. Quote
fde101 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 If that is not considered a bug, it should be. This is the wrong section of the forum for bug reports, however. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/71-bug-reporting/ Quote
Intuos5 Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 The select same tool selects everything hidden and locked, that's by design. And its a major flaw of the software. Quote
Grimmjow80 Posted January 11, 2023 Author Posted January 11, 2023 Yeah, but I was in AD V1. In V2 they add new options "Select Hidden Objects" which you can uncheck. With this options off, hidden objects are not selected. BUT only when that objects are hidden itself. If they are not visble, because they are child of hidden layer (but in layer panel are marked as visble), they will be selected. Quote
Intuos5 Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Hadn't noticed that option yet. Wasn't in the release notes either IIRC. Also, if you isolate a layer, it'll still select from other layers. Please file a bug report and I'll tag along. Quote
Mweber Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Confirmed, this is still massive bug. Content of locked and/or hidden layers is selected by "Select Same", even with "Select Hidden Objects" deselected and/or with "Edit all Layers" disabled. Quote
GenewalDesign Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 I'm joining the party, this function is lacking a proper excluding system. I want to select curves that have the same colors, but it also select curves I don't want to. I did some objects, with clipping masks. Theses curves have little objects I want to remove, so I use select same fill color. I can uncheck the "select hidden objects", but as my little objects are inside bigger objects, I would have to open EVERY object and hide them one after one...! So, what about just hiding the upper object that nest the little ones? NOPE. It select the objects I don't want to. Bartosz Borecki 1 Quote
papernoise Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 2.1 is now out and this issue seems to still persist. Quote
