Yeah, but I was in AD V1. In V2 they add new options "Select Hidden Objects" which you can uncheck. With this options off, hidden objects are not selected. BUT only when that objects are hidden itself. If they are not visble, because they are child of hidden layer (but in layer panel are marked as visble), they will be selected.

Grimmjow80 started following Show hidden layer in group , Select Object / Select Same with Select Hidden Objects select hidden objects , Select same, in the artboard only? and 2 others

Hi, when I Select Object or Select Same with Select Hidden Objects deselected, hidden objects will be selected. It's no matter if object is on hidden layer or in hidden group. Only if object is hidden itself, it will be excluded from selection. Another problem is, when chose object (e.g. curve) and Select Same e.g. Fill Colour, when objects are in group and: - group is visible, only group will be selected; - group is hidden, objects is group will be selected (without group itself).

My base problem was to use "Select the same" function with "Select hidden.." option off. But even if parent layer is hidden, objects are set as visible, so "Select the same" choose them too. So I've tried to select all, set them as hidden and then use "Select the same". But as I mention, some curves are in groups, some as parts of the layers. So like You said, with differenses between groups and layers and they behaviour in selecting, there is no way to select ALL objects and hide them. Using option "Hidde others" should hide all components on all levels, or using "Select the same" without hidden should consider visibility state of top level layer or group .

That's how it's supposed to work. All selections as expected. Not all object selected. "Allow selection to consider items inside a group" on, "Edit All Layers" on. Group is selected, but object inside not. Objects inside layers are selected, but layers it self are not. Try to Select all and hide objects (set ALL hiden). My point is, that Select All don't select all objects. It doesn't select objects on all sub-levels. Or even on top level. Maybe it's my wrong understanding phrase "SELECT ALL" 😄

HI, I have another question about Select All in AD. There is some bug in this function or I don't understand how it works. When I chose Select All with Edit All Layers on, selected will be: - Top level Groups but without: sub-level objects (layer, groups, shapes, curves etc.) - Top level Layers sub-level objects (groups, shapes, curves), but without: - top level layers it self; - sub-level layers (layers in layers) - sub-level layer is not selected, but objects inside are; - objects in sub-level groups (ex. grouped curves inside layer) - group is selected, but objects inside are not; When I select and unselect layer and I chose Select All with Edit All Layers off, selected will be: previously selected layer sub-level objects (groups, shapes, curves), but without: - layer it self; - sub-level layers (layers in layers) - sub-level layer is not selected, but curves inside are selected; - objects in sub-level groups (ex. grouped curves inside layer) - group is selected, but objects inside are not. When I select and unselect Group and I chose Select All with Edit All Layers off, it behave the like Select All with Edit All Layers on. When Group contains curves and shapes, and I select one curve, then chose Select All with Edit All Layers off, all nodes of curve are selected. But if I select shape, then chose Select All with Edit All Layers off, all object in group (curves, shapes) are selected. Could someone explain me, is this behavior is correct? Select All should select all components.

I don't know is it bug or purpose behavior, but when I Select Object or Select Same with Select Hidden Objects deselected, objects witch are in hidden groups, but their visibility in layer panel is set as visible, are selected. To exclude them from automatic selection, I have to find them in layer panel and change their visibility to hidden.

Show hidden layer in group

Thank's. I did't noticed that "Show All" works only for child layers if group is selected. I thought that it works for All layers. -

Hi All. Is there a way to make all child layers in group visible (when some layers are hidden)? I can't find a way to make all layers in group visible, when some of them are hidden. When I show/hide layers group, visibility of child layers don't change. If layer was hidden, she stay hidden after group show/hide. Also there is no easy way to select all child layers to make them visible - go to bottom of the group in layer panel, select bottom layer, scroll to top, select top layer, show selected. Of course I can show all layers, back to my group and hide others layers 😁

Hi. It's impossible to create user styles with the same fill but different stroke width / stroke style. Both ways don't work - from menu in Styles Panel, or from object context menu. It require to change fill color to create new style. But it's possible to create two or more the same styles. Affinity_Designer_Styles_Bug.mp4

I have a question about curves / shapes inside another (parent - child). When selecting shape or closed path containing curves, stroke modification change only parent item. To change children strokes, they have to be selected separately. When items are grouped, there is no problem - changing group stroke make effect on all items in group. Is there a way to change child property when changing parent, or to select both, parent and child, to apply format for all items.
