bt1138 Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 What it says, I assume it's due to using MSIX format. This is a standard behavior for programs for at least 20 years now. Any way to make it work? *edit: Yes, as some surmised, this is for a file being dragged onto a shortcut on the desktop Thane5 1 Quote
Ron P. Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 You need to double-click on the MSIX file, or Right-Click on it and choose Install. They're talking about opening files by dropping them onto the application shortcut on the Windows Taskbar, I think. Not about installing the program. Ron P. Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 They do for me, as long as the app/program is open first if dragging to the taskbar icon. Dragging to the desktop icon works for V1. I don't have any V2 shortcuts on the desktop to try that. EDIT: I created desktop shortcuts for the V2, and OP is correct. Must be due to the app being litterboxed.... 🤣 walt.farrell 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2.5..; Affinity Designer 2.5..; Affinity Publisher 2.5..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Staff DWright Posted February 21, 2023 Staff Posted February 21, 2023 Due to sandboxing you are not able to drag and drop files to the Affinity 2 icons, we have made available the .exe version of the Affinity 2 programs which will allow you to drag and drop files to the desktop icon and open with the Affinity program. This FAQ shows where you can download the FAW Quote
