Designer1
Affinity Designer 2 does not have a blending tool (blending between different shapes). The guides can only be positioned vertically and horizontally and not, for example, by 45 degrees. The knife cuts straight lines only vertically, horizontally and at 45 degrees. It would be desirable if the knife could cut any degree straight. These functions are desirable!

Here on Mac I can use the Control key to cut at any angle, or Shift to constrain to the settings I have set in the Grid and Snapping Axis manager. Use the Command Controller to select the Control key and you can get a straight line with the Knife tool in any degree. Check the Status Bar for hints about using the Knife (or other Tools), while it is selected. Or, probably, the Help (but I haven't looked there for this). So, that would be: Press left mouse button and drag while also pressing right mouse button.
