Unable to Activate Affinity Photo 2

Recommended Posts

I purchased Affinity Photo 2 from the App Store on 11 November and am still unable to activate the app.

The ‘My Account…’ menu in Affinity Photo 2 is greyed out so I can’t see whether the app is activated or not.

I am also able to use Affinity Photo 2 but will it continue to work after the 30 day trial period?!

My Affinity ID and Password are working perfectly for the original Affinity Photo.
I am therefore able to access my account where I read that 'You currently have no Affinity V2 licences' !!

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Ian Dalgleish.

I think this FAQ post will have some helpful information for you:

Already followed this advice and got nowhere.

Including all the steps like rebooting the system, clicking Deactivate this device, clicking Buy again, etc?

Don't see an option for 'Deactivate this device' or 'Buy again' in AffPhoto 2.

How do I do that?

How have you tried to access the Account dialog? There are three ways:

  1. From the menu
  2. From the Tool Bar (right side)
  3. From the File > New dialog (top entry in the left icon stack).

Do any of them work? You need Account to do the Deactivate step.

If none of them work, when you start the app you should be offered the options about Continuing the Trial, Restoring Purchases, or Buying.

What does the top left corner of the main Photo 2 window show?

This is green because I have linked/registered/whatever my application. Regardless of the colour on your Mac click on it and see what happens.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thanks to walt I now have a licence for AffPhoto2 but the 'My account' option is still greyed out - see attached image.image.jpeg.3f06644fd0d216a97ee1f8fad2d471a5.jpeg

It is for me as well if I do not have an open document; but if I open a file in AP 2 it is no longer greyed out.

Is it the same for you?

EDIT: I get the same behavior in AD 2 & APub 2 -- no open document, My Account ... is greyed out. Probably a minor bug?

I did not notice that. If you open a file in AP2 'My Account' is no longer greyed out!

The other two methods we've mentioned should always be available. :)
