Alojzij
Hello, I recently upgraded Affinity Photo to 2.0. In older version I could switch between different units in transform panel on export persona. I know it is not by design, because I was using this feature very often before and it worked. There used to be other units in transform panel. The problem is, I cannot use a slice tool to measure 210x297 A4 format with pixels. I need millimeters or centimeters for this. It lacks one other feature in export persona, which is size format snaping when using slice tool. Now it doesn't snap to certain size any more. It was one of the main reasons I used this program, but now it became useless. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

David in Яuislip
Pšenda's suggestion ought to work however it seems that the units in Export persona transform panel are fixed on pixels whereas V1 used to change according to the document units. So maybe this is a way to inform the user that their output will always correspond to pixels? Dunno and dunno why it's changed. It doesn't bother me as I always work in pixels but I think it would be better if the program allowed the user to work in their preferred units and rounded to the nearest pixel. At the moment, you can enter a decimal any of the transform boxes in Export Persona but if you switch to another slice then switch back to the 'altered' one you'll see that the decimals are ignored and the number is rounded down. Dan C
Hi @Alojzij, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Thanks for your report and our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here. We are exceptionally busy following the release of V2 and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding here. I believe this is a bug in V2, which I'm logging with our developers now! Unfortunately I'm not sure what you mean by this, as you can still auto-generate slices based on the layer size, and return the slice to the auto-size from the Context Toolbar - can you please expand on the option you believe to be missing? I can confirm this is the same behaviour found in V1, though this only occurs when the measurements are set to Pixels. I suspect that the value is rounded from the decimal, as we don't support exporting a 'part-pixel' value, however the Transform Studio certainly could be clearer in this regard - so I'm also logging this with our team for furtehr consideration. I hope this helps!
Dan C
Just to confirm, I have been informed by our team that this is By Design for Affinity V2 and was an intended change, with the following information provided: Quote The Export Persona has been designed primarily for UI artists and graphic designers who are often outputting a lot of different objects in one document to multiple different files and sizes. Therefore it was decided that it should always export out as whole pixels, which is why only whole pixels can be selected for slices. Hence, the Export Persona is now only displayed with Pixel units. However I certainly understand this does not suit your V1 workflow, and would require manually calculating the pixel size of A4, for the given document or export DPI, each time you want to create these slices - therefore I have logged an improvement with out team to allow the document units to be used in the Export Persona, even if these are still being rounded to whole pixel values. I hope this clears things up! LCamachoDesign
