Hi all,

I am running the latest version (2) on my iMac  with OS Ventura.

Today I have tried to install the Denoise AI app from Topaz Lab. I went under preferences Photoshop plug ins, add plug in and ticked use unknown apps.

when going to Filters, plug ins, the first level I see is Topaz Lab, with a second step to the Denoise AI. But that is greyed out.

Is this a bug in V2 or did I miss an installation step?

They don't even show up for me. I've added folder from Topaz, also copied files from there to default Affinity plugins and still nothing. How you manage to get them in Photo?

Did you link to your application folder and then to the individual apps one by one by clicking "add" like in my example?

You should not copy any files.

I believe I have everything set-up correctly. I'm on Windows though, maybe that's the problem

The one thing I haven’t tried is to select a pixel layer, which is odd to me as it should work without this requirement.

Why would you think that? These kinds of plugins only work on pixel objects.

Hi,

I didn’t think it was needed as you load a raw file into the standalone app. I guess the app is rasterising the image and then doing its magic. You learn every day.

I tried it again with a rasterised image and the plug in was available. But now the plug in crashes when I try to use it. Oh well, will use it as standalone app then.

Did anyone ever post a solution for this?  I'm using Affinity Photo2 on MacOS Sonoma.  I added the apps as shown in the screenshot from All Media Lab above and restarted Photo2.  A list of what appear to be the correct plugins now populate the list.  I checked allow unknown plugins.

Selected an unlocked pixel layer and selected the DeNoise AI.  It's not greyed out - but nothing at all happens.  Same if I select  Sharpen AI.

Gigapixel AI *is* greyed out but that might be because a plugin typically would not be able to resize the document?

The last plugin I have in the Topaz list is Topaz Photo AI - when I select that Affinity pops up an error window "Error: cannot create shared memory for params".  Again maybe that is because one of the possible functions of Photo AI is also resizing?

I would love to at least be able to use DeNoise and Sharpen.  No luck yet...
