The Olderfleet Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 I have a Canon 5D Mark II which produces raw files in Canon's CR2 format. I have installed Affinity Photo v.2.0.0 on my two computers. One is Windows 10 (64GB RAM) and the other Windows 11 (32GB RAM). Both systems are up-to-date. When I try to open a CR2 file on both machines, it is taking between 7 and 9 seconds which is considerably longer than under Affinity Photo 1. This seems like an extraordinarily long time to open a file. I wanted to report this as a possible bug or fault. Quote
MikeTO Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 It feels slower on macOS, too, so it's not a Windows-specific issue. My CR2 files take about 2 seconds to open in v2 but that's too fast for me to accurately measure how much slower than v1. Maybe a quarter or third slower? How fast did your photos open in v1? I'm opening 18MP Canon CR2 from an EOS 60D so just slightly smaller than the 21MP photos from your camera. Staff Chris B Posted November 17, 2022 Staff Posted November 17, 2022 The slow raw loading is due to us applying noise reduction on open as opposed to doing it after the raw has opened. This will be reversed. MikeTO 1 Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
