I can confirm that this does work: winget install --name "Affinity Photo 2" I was only able to locate the software via: winget search -q affinity Glad that they're finally on.

There has been quite a bit of discussion elsewhere on this forum (ie [1] and [2]) about the availability of Affinity Designer, Publisher and Photo on Winget. I note that the programmes are now available for installation via that method: To install Affinity Photo 2: winget install 9P8DVF1XW02V To install Affinity Designer 2: winget install 9N2D0P16C80H To install Affinity Publisher 2: winget install 9NTV2DZ11KD9 I note that version numbers in winget are listed as "202.1.2075.0" when the software shows "2.2.1". The source is also shown as "msstore" rather than "winget". It would be good if someone could set up some "friendly" ID's (ie "Affinity.Designer" rather than "9N2D0P16C80H"), like what I see with other software packages. Anyway, I've just installed them this afternoon, so we'll see how the upgrade works when 2.2.2 or 2.3 come out. Thought I'd share 😀

I have a Canon 5D Mark II which produces raw files in Canon's CR2 format. I have installed Affinity Photo v.2.0.0 on my two computers. One is Windows 10 (64GB RAM) and the other Windows 11 (32GB RAM). Both systems are up-to-date. When I try to open a CR2 file on both machines, it is taking between 7 and 9 seconds which is considerably longer than under Affinity Photo 1. This seems like an extraordinarily long time to open a file. I wanted to report this as a possible bug or fault.

Yes, I agree also. An option to Close All and agree to lose changes in unsaved work would be acceptable. My workflow sometimes involves opening multiple RAW files (.CR2) but only developing those that are of acceptable quality. It would actually be convenient to be able to shut everything down quickly because I know that I have already worked on those files that I want to keep.

I share the concerns of others about the massive size of .afphoto files. Using Photoshop, I can open a CR2 (Canon RAW) file and make whatever adjustments I need before exporting to JPG. However, a XMP file is also saved which contains a record of all the changes and adjustments made to the CR2 without the massive file size. So I can come back later, open the CR2 and so long as the XMP is there, it will open as it was last left. This is efficient. The massive size of the .afphoto files is a big concern. I am a new convert to AP and I admit that I really like it except for this particular feature which has come as a rather unpleasant surprise. It will make archiving very expensive in terms of space and money. If AP had an XMP-type file format, I reckon that would solve most people's problems. Sure, the .afphoto is great during work, but for archiving, something smaller is required IMHO.
