Checklist in Publisher 2

Recommended Posts

Hi,

in Version 1 there was a good visible green dot (in the lower left corner) if the dokument was ok. Now it is replaced with a green symbol that is difficult to see. Please change it how it was before. Attached is a screenshot from the new version 2.

-1, for me please not.

The difference between a document in order and a document with errors is so significant that it does not need to be emphasized even more.

The green/red document symbol is also consistent with the adjacent view switch page symbol, unlike the previous visually unclear beacon aka dot symbol.

Here is my red one. Better to recognise than the green one.

Then it shouldn't be a problem to distinguish these two states - KO vs OK.

However, highlighting the colors would certainly not be harmful - in my opinion, this could be achieved by coloring the black line, which symbolizes a multi-page document.

But its lack of color makes no sense - if the "whole" document is fine, then "all" pages of the document should be green as well.

Although it didn't help much - it would have liked a little more intense green color.

Hi, this icon has 3 versions, green (good), yellow (warning), and red (error).

In Preflight itself, there are 3 unique icons in addition to the colours. I think what you're requesting is that these 3 icons be used in the bottom of the window rather than the page icon with its 3 colours.

The new icon is fine for me. But just out of curiosity: what about color blind users?

Paolo

There are varieties of color blindness. And though I am sure there are color blind users of Publisher, I cannot but wonder how effective they could be in working with Designer or Photo, and without regard to icon colors.

There are work areas in which not all can be capable, despite current fashion.

We were discussing of Publisher. And I’m sure there are also books not made of colored pictures.

That will not pass any accessibility test, and I'm thinking of multiple criteria. Quite a few actually.

Just think of seniors alone (who buy Affinity because of their limited budget as retirees) or the incredible number with visual impairments. Accessibility is for many, many more than one thinks.

 1) You have completely wrecked the layers panel, Serif.

2) I recommend Reddit groups instead of this forum. Not the same few bot-like users replying to everything, a wider representation of users, fewer fanboys, more qualified users. In short, better!

3) I was here to report bugs and submit improvement requests for professional work professionally in a large setup and to bring a lot of knowledge from the world, i.e. professional product development, web- and software development, usability, user experience design and accessibility. I actually know what I am talking about!

BUT! We are phasing out Designer and Affinity in 2022 Q1 - and replacing it with feature complete and algorithmically competent alternatives.
Publisher is unsuitable for serious use, and was never adopted.
