Lars Röber
I installed some fonts through the Adobe Creative Cloud App on my iPad. The fonts are also displayed with the correct names in the Affinity apps, but when I use one of the fonts for a text it is only displayed in Chinese in the selection box. So if I want to check which font I used for a text it is not possible…

rgenci
I have the same problem. It wasn’t like that from the beginning. I purchased all 3 v2 apps with the ultimate license for 5th generation iPad professional. Initially it was displaying the font names properly until recently. Now in pull down menu they are still displayed in English but in the box above it’s in Chinese? It’s only happening in Designer for now. Publisher and Photo is still displaying them in English. Dj Ozz G
I am currently facing the very same issue with Designer2 on iPad where my fonts are showing in Chinese. I have installed the fonts using a 3rd party app called iFont. Only happening with designer though, photo & publisher shows/seems to be working ok. So hopefully Affinity can address the issue which seems to be a bug.
beckywc
I’m having the same issue, except it’s in Affinity Publisher.
Ginger Snap
I’m having the same issue. It started this morning, and I’ve been using the program for about a week now. This morning the fonts began displaying kanji in the font selection box. Last night I used the app iFont to install additional fonts. I had been using fonts installed through this app without issue prior to today, so I assume something I installed last night caused the issue. Can you reproduce it? Yes. It continues to occur. My next step will be uninstalling an reinstalling. Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem? Yes, it occurs on new documents, on most fonts EXCEPT ARIAL. Both installed and native fonts are displaying kanji. Some fonts don’t, most do. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following: What is your operating system and version (Windows 11, OSX Ventura, iOS 16 etc)? iPad, 15.6.1 Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? (and have you tried the other setting?) I don’t see this setting. What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) font displays as kanji instead of font name/ preview Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). opened iFont, selected about a dozen fonts, selected install in iFont app, installed them in the settings menu of the iPad. Opened affinity document. Selected a font other than arial. Font preview displayed kanji. Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. I can provide: native font that displays correctly, native that displays incorrectly, downloaded font that displays correctly, downloaded that displays incorrectly, but this text box won’t let me upload. Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. nope Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware) fonts installed
ThirtyFiveThousand
🤣 I thought I was alone on this one! i actually have no idea when it actually started. I didn’t even notice it until yesterday during the edit of a text intensive file. That feeling when you finally look over from your Node Tool and actually type something…
