  1. I’m having an issue where Adobe CC fonts installed on my iPad frequently don’t work in any of my Affinity products except…sometimes they do? There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason. Even within the same hour, an Adobe font will work in Designer but not in Publisher, then that same font will start showing up in Publisher but not in Designer. Then later disappear from both. Here’s an example of the same document open in Publisher and Designer. In this instance, the Publisher version is what the document should look like. But earlier, the roles were reversed and it looked good Designer but not in Publisher. This is just one example, I am having this same issue with multiple Adobe fonts. I am also having the issue that others are having with font names being displayed in Chinese when selected. I am on an iPad 12.9 6th Gen (M2) 1TB running iPad iOS 16.2.
  2. I use Designer on iPad frequently, on Mac OS less so. In the last few days the currently selected font is named in Chinese, yet the font list is in English and there are no Chinese named fonts there. This is the same on both iOS and Mac OS. The only thing I can think of is that in the last few days I have started using an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (from my workplace) on both iPad and Mac which is installing a few of the fonts. But this behaviour is happening both to Adobe fonts (e.g. Cheap Pine) and non-Adobe ones (e.g. DIN Condensed). My iPad version is apparently 1.10.19, even though the latest build is apparently 1.10.3. I'm very confused. Can anyone shed any light on this? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling on desktop but not on iPad. iPad Pro running 15.3 with 1.10.19 (and MacBook Pro running 12.1 with a newly downloaded and installed 1.10.4)
  3. When I selected a font from the list of fonts they appeared in English. Once the font was chosen the title of font (in the font properties box) appeared in Chinese characters. The text that I typed on the canvas displayed as I wanted. The application functioned in English, and all the help text appeared in English. This problem persisted in both Affinity Photo 2 and Affinity Designer 2 on my iPad. I deleted Affinity Designer from my iPad and saw the problem continue in Affinity Photo. I reinstalled Affinity Designer and the problem was resolved. The purchased Brushes and Assets were automatically there as well as the custom Assets that I had created. The issue of the Chinese font name persisted in Affinity Photo. I deleted Affinity Photo and then reinstalled. Problem has been resolved. A possible related bug is that some font choices have a "?" in front of the name and appear in red. (see attachment). All of these fonts work fine in Affinity Designer 1.10.5 and Affinity Photo 1.10.5
  4. I installed some fonts through the Adobe Creative Cloud App on my iPad. The fonts are also displayed with the correct names in the Affinity apps, but when I use one of the fonts for a text it is only displayed in Chinese in the selection box. So if I want to check which font I used for a text it is not possible…
  5. I’m seeing various problems with fonts. Some fonts that have been imported into the v2 apps do not work. I get empty placeholder boxes for each character. These seemed to work initially but then stopped. In other cases fonts that are already on the iPad and work in all other apps such as Pages, Numbers, and the v1 versions of Affinity Designer/Photo, show up as red colored as though they are not available for v2 apps. Many fonts that do work, when selected, show in the toolbar as Chinese characters instead of the name of the font. In the v1 Affinity apps they show up properly with actual font names.
  6. Found this odd bug. On Some fonts, both installed and system, their titles are showing up in Chinese. (See image) Is anyone else getting this? Is it a known bug? Also, sometimes the font title is blank. (I don’t have an image of this)
  7. Publisher for iPad doesn’t seem to be loading system fonts, which are available in Affinity Designer and Photo for iPad. They show in the list but when selected don’t work. Attached are pics of an identical document in Publisher and Designer (PT Sans is the correct font, which fails when selected on Publisher). Anyone know how I might solve, as a publishing app without fonts is pretty useless!
  8. Hello. First of all, I can’t say enough how excited I am and grateful for the new tools like the shape builder, knife tool, vector warp…etc. So, thank you Serif for listening to us and delivering those much appreciated brand-new goodies 👋. Here are some of the few bugs(?) that I found using the app these past couple of days. 1-Snapping works to a point where it stops. Say for example when duplicating a group of squares, they don’t snap with the original group. 2-When changing fonts through the typography panel, the name of the font converts from English to what I assume is Mandarin.
  9. Hello, I’m having an issue with custom fonts that are installed on my iPad with affinity designer, 2.0. For some reason when I’m in the iPad app the font name shows with Chinese (I believe) characters. Does anyone know why? I’ve restarted my iPad and it doesn’t seem to fix the problem. For example, Calluna Sans, or any other custom font shows like the image attached. Thanks.
  10. Hi folks, just another bug report for the team. I'm having issues with the drop-down font list showing the correct typeface I'm using in a document. In my screenshot, I noticed the typeface I'm using (AvantGarde Medium) displays correctly on the document, but in the drop-down it showed up in red, so when I tapped it and re-selected AvantGarde Medium, it displayed Chinese characters. I don't know if this problem is present in Designer or Photo because I haven't tried it, but hopefully it's just a simple fix. See the screenshot below. Thanks for your attention. Hope this helps, M.

  12. Hi there! I have a strange behavior into Publisher for iPad - in a textbox, it doesn’t matter what kind of font I choose, it always ended up with the name in Chinese??? Is this a bug or what? See screenshot:
  13. APhoto V2 using the Text Panel…suddenly switches the Font selection displayed to Chinese characters instead of actual Font Name. Not a consistent ongoing situation…occurs sporadically after lengthy use of App…which never occurred on V1 having used in the same allotted time frames.
  14. In the Text Studio of all my Affinity apps, the font names are all replaced with Chinese characters. The new appearance still includes the last letter of the English font name, so I don’t know if this is a glitch or a viral attack. The other apps on my iPad do not display a similar problem. My iPad language defaults to English. *I assume based on the Chinese characters I have experienced previously.
  15. Greetings Affinity! Good job so far! Don't let the whiners get you down! Just a few things i've found in my playing with designer on ipad (ipadpro 12.9 3rd gen - ios 16) >When you swipe three fingers and get the new contextual menu (LOVE this idea) when you hold a finger down, and get the additional list - any click on that additional list leads to a app crash. >After adding all my fonts to v2 (thanks alot apple). i found a it strange, that when i select said added font, the "name" in the text menu on the side and at the top is incomprehensible - looks like Chinese writing. (used ios to try to translate - it came up with ??????) and now for the "gee, let me see how far i can go to break things" category > step 1, place/embed (on an ipad! wow!) a older affinity file of a vector pumpkin i drew for a project last year. >step 2, place a filled box underneath. >step 3 - decide to try a mesh distort on said embedded afdesign file. >>result - see attached 🙂 All in all great effort here guys! Just a few loose ends to tidy up and we are gold! Thanks all! Scott
  16. I use designer 2 in Japanese. Some fonts are garbled and not displayed correctly. I can't confirm the name of the font I am using.
  17. Greetings, This is a bug from the beginning of v2. When selecting a text, some fonts (not sure the commonality) will display their name in a chinese/japanese font. The font in the attached image is "a love of thunder". This is present in affinity designer on the ipad (latest beta). I use it the most. WIll check to see if its "universal" when i get time Thanks, i LOVE the way things are going with this app! Scott
