Does Affinity Publisher V2 ipad version have data merge? I can’t find it anywhere and nothing when searching in the help section within the app.

What? Why not? Opening a file created with Windows Publisher shows the fields, why the hell cant we just reconnect and change them? Whats so difficult?

As far as I know, Data Merge, like many other features available on MacOS/Windows, is difficult to implement for iPads.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | INTEL Arc A770 LE 16 GB  | 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz | Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (22631.3296)
AMD A10-9600P | dGPU R7 M340 (2 GB)  | 8 GB DDR4 2133 MHz | Windows 10 Home 22H2 (1945.3803)

Affinity Suite V 2.4 & Beta 2.(latest)

I can't answer that question for you because I don't own an iPad.

Well, if there are no differences, except for the lack of data merge, I can go back to being lazy again. 🖖🏼

There are a number of features omitted from the iPad versions. For a list of some of them:

  1. Go to https://affinity.store
  2. Click on an application at the top, say, Designer.
  3. Click on Tech Specs
  4. Scroll down. Expand one of the collapsed sections.
  5. Find "desktop only" and examine each result.
  6. Expand another section, and repeat from #5 until done.
  7. Repeat from #2 with another of the applications.

That list will cover the major functions that are missing, but there may be minor ones, too. I haven't tried to find them all. Also, I think that some items from the list will be added in 2.1, based on what I've seen in the beta.

But Walt, that was’nt much that missing in Affinity Suite for iPad…

Data Merge in Publisher, global color, plugin-support, multiview in Photo, Packaging, global color in Designer…

Walt, can you find anything else?As I see it iPad versions of Affinity Suite is packed with desktop features…

If I wanted to spend the time looking, I could probably find more. First, I'd have to extract the complete list from the Affinity Store page, then see what else I've noticed or read about. But I'm not interested in doing that.

Perhaps someone else will participate. Mainly, I was responding to your statement that nothing except Data Merge is missing.

Walt, my reply was all in a friendly matter…

But, in Publisher for iPad only Data Merge is missing, nothing else…

We don’t have to argue more around this, just realize that iPad versions of Affinity Suite has desktop quality…

OK :)

Considering only Publisher 2, and considering only functions that are unique to Publisher (not those also present in Photo 2 and Designer 2), the only two missing functions seem to be Data Merge and the Book function.
