Yes I did update. None of the bugs I have reported here so far have seen any improvements/solutions. Cant edit the entries, change the linespacing/leading/content. Nor does it update correctly when going thru different records usong the preview „backwards“ and/or forward buttons. Still have to zoom in and out again to force a redraw of that previewed page. (This is a good old bug from V1, some years ago). If it were not for Photo and Designer I‘d try to get anredund by now for version 2. Disappointing. And yes, Its all plug in, has power and I did a restart and have all the latest updates on Windows 10. No, I wont try Windows 11. cheers.

Hi, I really loved Publisher until V2. Just updated to Publisher 2.0.4 to find the good old bug (or feature) to still be there and worse 1. Opening an afpub file originally created with some version 1 O still cannot edit anything inside a textfield that is linked to a data source (xlsx) via datamerge. 2. One could say, yes its linked… thats why… BUT in version 1 I could. Leading, Fontsize, Fonts. 3. Linebreaks. Publisher Version 2 does not do the same linebreaks as version 1. And they cannot be corrected. Also it does not respect linebreaks that are already in the datasource. 4. Finding DataMerge in V2 took some moments, why was it moved? Relearning interfaces is no fun. 5. Finding the „fields“ window was really a drag, has to open „help“. Why was it moved and why hidden in a submenu? Nobody will look there, I promise. 6. The old bug, still being there is that when changing the datasourcepages in Datemerge window, the fields sometimes do not get updated, or only some. Only solution (still the same as in V1) is to zoom into the document and back out again to „refresh“ its rendering on screen. Very sad. I had reported this several years ago already. In general this means to me, I should not have bought V2. Its unusable for me. Please revert the tool back to its original funtionality. Best regards.

What? Why not? Opening a file created with Windows Publisher shows the fields, why the hell cant we just reconnect and change them? Whats so difficult?

It seems, that an old bug (or feature?)from Publisher 1.xx has been kept in V2. I have an invoice imported from a pdf which has several fields to be filled via import data from an external Excel file with datamerge. Changing the source to use a different entry/row from the Excelfile is not showing the correct content in the fields UNLESS zooming in and out once. Only this helps, no restarts, preview modes, no updates, nothing. It is really irritating and has cause discussions about the use of Affinity for these tasks. Please finally fix it. It is on Windows AND Mac.

Thats what I actually ended up doing. Created a new sheet and „colleted“ the data of these different fields into one row.

Hi, I made a new version of my files, cause the originals are confidential. But the specialty is a placed PDF as designelemts. Maybe that is the cause for it all. I will upload the two files.. I also uploaded ashort screenrecording showing, when it is updating correctly and when it does not. Looks like it has to do with selecting and unselecting the fields (inside tables in this case). Hope it helps finding the cause. Best regards

Hi, I have noticed (on Mac and Windows) that Publisher does not reliably update the changed content of all merged fields when switching the datasources pages (Excel generated xlsx). Using the scrollwheel to zoom out and back in helps to resolve this. Its as if some fields get stuck with the previous values.

Hi, I am wondering if and how it would be possible to have certain text elements written, (or better) filled in once and being linked to several instances of itself. Like creating a multipage form that has an address and other elements, that are supposed to be exactly like on the first page? best regards.

Exactly, it "only" goes row by row... which is good for its purpose.

Hi, I am provided Excel-workbooks (files) which have different data in each file, but always in the same cells and rows. I would like to import these and place them in a publisher file. This way each Excel file would get one Publisher file. Say, the clients name is in c4, the street address in d12 and so on.. Can I somehow „pick“ from wherever and have the Publisherfile be populated accordingly, nly changing the Excel sourcefile each time? Its for a kind of manual Invoicing which relies on a clients Excel sheets.. Thanks in advance.

Hi, first of all congrats for this incredible app!!! Here is a suggestion/request. Can we get a feature to change the brightness of the background when the canvas is set to transparent and/or a simple way to change it from white, when it's opaque? I had to work with white type on transparent layers and Icould not see anything until i created a darker "temp"-layer beneath it. cheers

Hi, there is a way to use imported fonts (Truetype works, dont know about OpenType) on iOS. Get the app "AnyFont" (Schimanke) and follow their instructions. I use it successfully for some time now. cheers.
