GeirSol Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 [Studio] Hi! I have an image (real image) that I want to export as a slice and in set size (for web-design). How do I best do this? I've opened my image in Designer, and set slice, but I'm having trouble scaling to the export height/width I want. Quote
Staff NathanC Posted October 20, 2022 Staff Posted October 20, 2022 Hi @GeirSol, You can specify the exported dimensions of your slice by entering in your own values within the slice panel. For example, entering 1000w, 1000h and exporting the slice will result in the exported image being 1000x1000. See DanC's video in the thread below for an example of this. Quote

Will this typical alter w:h ratio? Quote

As NathanC has indicated specifying both the W/H values will alter the aspect ratio of the slice (unless you have done the proper calculations) If you want to preserve the original slice aspect ratio you can just set the required W or H value and the system will automatically calculate the other value on export, thus, preserving the original aspect ratio of the slice you made NathanC 1 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. That would typically be perfect. Anyway, setting the right slice-ratio from start would typically be a good thing. Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 By the way, there is no Affinity application called the Studio. There are 3 separate applications (Photo, Designer, and Publisher). And if you own all three, there is a function within Publisher called StudioLink, which gives you access to functions from the Photo Persona of Photo, and the Designer Persona of Designer within the Publisher application. But when discussing the applications, we can refer to Photo, Designer, or Publisher and (as needed) a Persona name. Or we can use abbreviations AP or APh (Photo), AD (Designer), or APub / APu (Publisher). There's no "AS". And, in my case, it's just to say that any answer in any of the 3 applications is valid Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 OK, but calling it AS or Studio will be confusing.
