Select same symbol

Could you please add a Select > Select Same > Symbol option?

That would make it much easier to work with them.

Not sure what exact workflow would benefit from this but there is Select > Select Object > Symbols so a 'Select Same' equivalent may come in handy if you are working with a document with a wide variety of symbol layers.

Exactly. Especially, if one day we'll be able to replace symbols. But for now it's to group them or put them in layers.

If you give your symbols names, then you can use Select > Select Same > Name.

Workflow:

1. Create object. In Layers panel, give it a name.
2. From Symbols panel, Create the symbol.

At that point the Symbol has a name, and you can select any copy and use Select > Select Same > Name to select all of them.

That sounds like a good idea, will have to try that! Unfortunately I had a bug with select same selecting locked objects (which I did report), so will refrain from using it for now in the document I'm working on...

I am not certain that is a bug, it may be by design. Obviously Select needs more options, many more. Hopefully it will improve with time.

Yes, but that does not necessarily mean it was logged as a bug. Sometimes the moderators create internal requests for improvements, and I think that is what happened here.
