I can just select Grid mode and can't even move the grid. These are esential tools for every designer programs.

Maybe has something to do with lock (or link text bellow), but I don't know how to use it.

Can anyone help?

@Jasmina Hi! As far as I know on iPad you need to adapt your project to the grid and not the other way around (the grid is fixed). Also, grid needs to be activated every time you open the document. All the best!

@Jasmina Once you've enabled Grids from the Document menu, those are all the options available in the iPad version. You still have the option og changing the grid mode, spacing etc.

Try using the guides, they can also create a grid automatically.

Hello.

using Affinity designer v2 on iPad Pro, enabling DIMETRIC grid and working on plands for a whole project. It appears that the planes are not centred and therefore request user to adjust placement of objects when switching from a plane to another.

Attached, screenshots showing centred guide enable with dimetric grid showing the offset by a few millimetres. This appears to be the same for all other grids type.
if there is anyway to fix the axis ourselves, would love to know how to ^_^.

Otherwise, could this be fixed in next release? If anyone has an alternative otherwise, happy to hear.

thank you for this amazing app. ❣️

There is a known bug in iPad photo/designer that limits the maximum grid size setting. This currently limits users ability to set grid size relative to page size. Even so the default should be at centre point as it is for square grids. Currently no fix or workaround that I have seen.

Grids are appear to be drawn from 0,0 hence the problem. The only way to fix would be to draw grid from h/2,w/2 as their starting point.

Managed to fiddle these grids to be central on a 1000px x 1000px canvas by multiplying grid spacing by sqrt(2) e.g.

100 x 1.4142 = 141.42 grid

/10 = 14.142 grid also works

This logic could be extended to the other grids at the expense of having to use a bit of maths to pick your canvas size so not much use really, the solution would be to be able to select grid drawing starting point, either home 0,0 top left or central.

I agree. We shouldn’t need to be mathematicians😀
