Peregrin
I've been having the same problem, and now I see someone else has already asked this question. I'm glad I don't have to wait till the next update, then! Thomas M. Braun
Thomas M. Braun
I find the rotating feature quite helpful, for example when you have to place / typeset vertical copy. Here's the big BUT: It is rather annoying that it seems you can't easily rotate it back to 0° (that is, original position). Without such a possibility, I find it almost useless. If there's a shortcut to do this, this would be very helpful to know. Also, I think it would be nice if there would be a key combination or a magnetic feature to arrest the page at 90°, 45°, 30°, maybe even in 15° steps. It would also be extremely helpful if the information on the degree of the rotation would be displayed somewhere. Without it, it's a little "flying bling" if you need to rotate it to a specific degree. Any information on this? Thank you very much. Staff MEB Posted March 1, 2021 Staff Share Posted March 1, 2021 Hi @Thomas M. Braun, Welcome to Affinity Forums 1. The shortcut to reset the rotation is Ctrl+Shift+Cmd+R (macOS) or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R (Windows) or go to menu View > Reset Rotation. You can set a different shortcut going to Affinity Preferences, Keyboard Shortcuts section, setting the dropdowns to Photo and View and editing the corresponding entry in the list below. 2. You can use the menu View> Rotate Left and Rotate Right to rotate the view 15º at a time. You can also set shortcuts for these two commands (same exact section as described above). Currently there's no way to know how much degrees the view is rotated if you did it arbitrarily. Feel free to create a new thread in the respective app section in the Feature Requests & Suggestions area on the forums. Thomas M.
