Wosven
I want to modify some default settings for text, like this default value, but can't manage to do it. Any idea? When done, I should be able to create a new document, add a frame and type text, and this new paragraph should have "space after paragraph" set to value 0. walt.farrell
Have you tried creating an empty text frame, then setting the value in the Paragraph panel, and then (with the frame still selected) using Edit > Defaults > Synchronize from Selection followed by Edit > Defaults > Save? Wosven
Strangely, using the button did nothing (I completely forgot it was also in the menu, with a "save" option). Doing it twice using the menu Edit > Defaults > Synchronize from Selection followed by Edit > Defaults > Save, did nothing either. But it was the combo: Button > Synchronize from Selection followed by Edit > Defaults > Save, that did it.
walt.farrell
Strange. I've never seen a difference between the button and the menu. firstdefence
I wonder if this is a bug, as both methods should end with the same result? Wosven
I retested on the regular version, and it worked from the menu without problem... It sounds like I was particularly clumsy yestereve

niallsop
Related to this theme, is it possible to change the 'space after paragraph' window from points to millimetres?
Alfred
22 minutes ago, niallsop said: Related to this theme, is it possible to change the 'space after paragraph' window from points to millimetres? I don’t think you can mix units (e.g. font size in pt but ‘Space after’ in mm) but if you go to ‘Preferences > User Interface’ there’s a checkbox labelled ‘Show text in points’. Unchecking that checkbox will make measurements display using the current document units. Alternatively, leave the checkbox checked and simply type the units after the number (e.g. 6 mm will automagically be converted to 17 pt).
