[Photo, iPad] Make accidentally-triggered palettes go away?

I'm really liking drawing with the Apple Pencil in Photo, but I can't hold my hand as if drawing on a normal page because the "heel" of my palm keeps accidentally triggering pop-out palettes.

Right now, I have this Macros palette popped out on my screen, and can't make it go away. How do I do this?

It's really a minor thing, but still annoying. Thanks!

You close that studio just like you'd close any other: by touching its icon again.

For Macro it's the icon like a Play button (triangle pointing to the right). If you touch and hold the ? Icon on the lower right of the workspace it will label them for you.

For your basic problem, perhaps the "Touch for gestures only" option (Preferences, Tools) would help?

You can get a sort of two finger "artist glove" that stops this happening.

The Colour Studio always uses the current foreground colour as the icon colour. For any other palette — or studio, in Affinity-speak — the icon is lit up (i.e. white instead of grey) to indicate that it’s active.

Thanks, all, for the suggestions on this... and setting it to "touch for gestures only" also pretty much took care of that whole issue; I'll look into that glove, though. That sounds pretty nifty.

Much better now, being able to hold my hand to the page more naturally. I can draw much "tighter" now, the way I'm used to, and my hand lettering is actually legible now. (;^>

Oh, man...! That looks perfect. Says here "eligible for delivery to US"... I'm sure the US site probably carries these, too; I'll just run a search real quick... thanks again for cluing me in to this.

There’s no need to do a separate search. Just go to the location/address bar in your browser and change .co.uk to .com to get search results for the US site.
