Hi iMac1943,

Sorry the delay replying to your question.

You can use the Node Tool (after converting the shapes to curves) to add nodes to the places where you want to cut the paths. Then select those nodes, go to the context toolbar and click on the Break Curve button from the Action section to break them. You can then remove the segments you don't need.

there is a step to do after 'click on the Break Curve button from the Action section to break them. You can then remove the segments you don't need.'

What step exactly?

Thanks!

Hi, I'm learning as I go, and I tried to solve your problem.

I used the ellipse tool.

-Set the fill to none and stroke to your liking.

Convert to curves. Use the node tool and select the first node. Break curve. Select the second node. Break curve.
Look in the layers panel. You have two layers highlighted. Delete the one you don't need.

After breaking the circle using the nodes as i described, you only have to select the segment with the Move tool and delete it.

Hi iMac1943,

you have to deselect your selection after going to the Move Tool (since both segments of your circle are still selected at this stage), and then reselect the part you want to delete …

Hope that helps …  :)
