KevinM71 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 When I import images into a project, they are distorted. I’ve cleared my cache, deleted and re installed the app. It works fine briefly, but becomes distorted again. I have a paid Canva account that I import most of my images from, but everything I use is distorted and unusable in the Affinity app. This error is intermittent, and very frustrating. Any help/ suggestions would be appreciated. Quote
Alfred Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @KevinM71. What kind of image distortion are you experiencing? Shape, colour, a combination of the two, or something else entirely? I note that you say it’s intermittent, but you haven’t indicated whether it manifests itself in a similar fashion on each occasion. By the way, this forum section is for customer service issues such as failed payment processing, not for technical support. Perhaps a moderator will move it. KevinM71 Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 My workflow is pulling images from my Canva account, saving to DropBox, and importing into Affinity to work on them. I’ve attached images to hopefully demonstrate my problem. The Help Wanted sign is an imported Canva image, brought in to Affinity via DropBox. The blocky image is how Affinity displays that Help Wanted sign. Hopefully this demonstrates the workflow and the problem. Thanks for any help. Quote
KevinM71 Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 The steps I’ve taken to correct the problem are: Hard rebooting the app. Hard reset of the iPad Clearing the cache Contacted Apple support (they directed me to this forum). Quote

On the desktop, some users use it for File > Open. Technically, I would only use it for File > Place, though Paste and drag/drop give effectively the same results as Place. Even with Place, you can Place at native size or you can drag on the screen to get it placed exactly where you want and at the exact size you want. One of those doesn't apply on iPad, but that still leaves several possibilities for what you might be doing. Please describe exactly what you're doing to get the image into Photo. A screen recording might be nice, too. And it's still not clear to me what you mean by distorted. Sorry. I can see that you have two Image layers whose thumbnails seem to have no relationship to the content of the document, but I wouldn't use the term "distorted" for that, so I'm still confused. Dan C Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Hi @KevinM71, Sorry to see you're having trouble! As Walt has mentioned, I'm very interested in the steps you're taking to result in this, as I've tested Dropbox files from both the Dropbox application and Files (with Dropbox enabled) and this has worked as expected for me. Could you also please provide a copy of this .afphoto file here? Many thanks in advance Quote
