kViro Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Hello, The Metadata>File section is blank/empty when opening images from my photo archive (created using PhotoShop) on AP v/ 1.9.3 for the Mac. I am able to view the information when using Phil Harvey's ExifTool which is part of Graphic Converter -- so I know that the information exists. (I've included screenshots from AP & GC to this message for review). Any thoughts on how to get AP to display my Metadata? Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 In your Metadata panel, "File" is just one of the sections of information you could examine. have you tried looking at the others? If that doesn't help, can you give us a sample image file to examine that you're having a problem with? Old Bruce Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 I made a file in Affinity Photo and exported a TIFF and a PNG file. The Metadata was included in the exported files. Does it show up in Photoshop and or ExifTool? here is what I see in Photo. Here is what I see in the Finder. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

kViro Posted January 17, 2022 Author Posted January 17, 2022 Hey @walt.farrell, Thanks for your response. I've attached a sample JPEG to this response. Many thanks ! Quote
walt.farrell Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Thanks, @kViro. I should have probably asked you to Zip it first, to make sure the forum software didn't interfere. I'm on my iPad this morning and I'm not seeing exif data, but I'm not sure if the forum interfered or I haven't figured out how to get the proper version from the forum to the iPad. I probably won't get to the other computer until sometime this afternoon, but perhaps someone else can check your photo in the meantime. walt.farrell Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 I got to my PC earlier than planned. The JPG file you uploaded here does not have any EXIF data in it, according to ExifTool. So please try Zipping it and upload the .zip file. v_kyr Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Well the OP uses APh 1.9.3, that version apperently had some meta panel data issues, which were fixed in later (>= 1.9.4) versions ... Quote Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.9.4.241) - Photo Beta on Mac ... Changes Since Previous Beta - ... - Assorted metadata panel tweaks. - Further panorama stitching performance tweaks. - Assorted bug fixes. Thus he might want to update that older 1.9.3 version to a more actual one. Graphics Converter 11 shows the same in its EXIFTool tab & "No XMP data available" in its XMP tab. So either the forum stripped out the photo-specific metadata or there was none in the version of the file uploaded here. walt.farrell 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.6 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7

Maybe it's time to create a bootable partition on my external drive to see if there's still problems. It would be handy to have my data displayed. Quote
