Sign-In error in Photo, Designer and Publisher

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I just got a new Laptop where I want to setup my Affinity products. I can install and use the products (Photo, Designer, Publisher) but I can not login into my account. The error message I get is Timeout while waiting for registration service "ready" notification.

First I though that there is maybe just some kind of error in the Serif cloud infrastructure but the error is there since multiple days. Because of that I assume the problem is somewhere in my setup. Here is a screenshot of the cited error:

Some infos about my system:

  • No special anti-virus or firewall except the standard windows-defender stuff
  • Same error on Photo, Designer and Publisher
  • Non-windows-store version
  • Affinity Photo version: 1.10.4.1198
  • Windows version: Windows 11 Pro, Version 21H2, Build 22000.434
  • System language: German
  • Default Browser: Firefox 96.0.1
  • Hardware: Dell XPS-15 9510
    • 64 GB RAM
    • 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900H @ 2.50GHz
    • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti + Intel UHD Graphics

Has somebody any idea how I could login into my account?

Best Regards,
Fano

Edit: I just saw that this is a known bug. The workaround would be to run the App as administrator. I had not tried this yet. I do not know if the developers can reproduce the bug. If you (devs) want I will not run the workaround and give you more informations. I am primary a software-developer and know how annoying it could get if something is not reproachable ;)

They can and are working on a fix

For now, just Run as Administrator

i have just done a fresh installation of windows 11 and installed affinity photo, and tried the beta version too. neither will allow me to sign in to my account. same error as everyone else. what is with affinity photo and signing in? no other app on the planet has this much trouble. the administrator option does not work either.
