Andrew Smithers Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Is there an opposite to Paste Inside, ie Cut Contents? I can't find this command, so how can I remove contents for editing? Quote
carl123 Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 Could you be a bit more specific as to what you want to do? Staff MEB Posted January 14, 2022 Staff Posted January 14, 2022 Hi @Andrew Smithers, I'm not sure i understood you correctly but here's what I think you are trying to achieve: assuming you are considering a shape (circle for example) and want to remove the content it is overlapping (masking) you can set the Blend mode of that shape to Erase in the dropdown on top of the Layers panel. This however will rasterise all elements affected by the shape with than blend mode on export. As an alternative you can add a vector mask to your design to show just the parts you want. For example you can draw a rectangle covering the whole design and subtract that shape you want to cut from your design (for example a circle) from the rectangle then use the resulting shape as a mask for your design. Everything will be visible except the area inside the circle. Here's an example where i used a vector mask to hide ("cut") part of the bottom shoe from the image: Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
