Feature Request: Importing PDF as rasterized pages

Recommended Posts

Importing PDFs as rasterized (checkbox in the import window) would be very appreciated if introduced to the Affinity suite. This would enhance the ability to achieve a graphically compliant result, compared to the original PDF in case the contained fonts are not available on the system. Or, if the empedded fonts are really embedded, there would not be any problem off course. :)

What you are looking for is a PDF passthrough option which is already implemented.

Or am I missing something?

Not missing anything I guess. The Passthrough option is meant for placing not opening. Unfortunately you can place only one page at a time.

I am trying to thing of the advantages for a rasterised pdf over a placed one with pass through?

Not having to Place the PDF 300 times to get all the pages?

But I think I see your point. A Placed PDF in Passthrough is not rasterized. It remains a vector format. Any "rasterization" is only for display purposes within Affinity Publisher, so it's not distorted there by interpretation, and you have a good idea of what it will look like after Exporting or Printing.
