Great product but...

Slices:

Slices don't snap to grid, they dont snap to guides, can't duplicate slices, please take a look at Sketch

Gradient tool:

First of all it's sooo slow.. takes 2-3 seconds to open on my 2019 macbook pro. when it's open, i have no idea which part of the gradient is selected.. can we increase the size of the circle icon to signify the part of the gradient that i'm modifying? otherwise i have no idea...

Masks:

I can't add adjustments to photos that are masked unless I unmask them first?

really appreciate you guys trying to save us from the greed of Adobe..

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

I don't understand that one. Examples might help.

All of my slices come from Artboards, which are made to be pixel-perfect, so I don't have this problem

Why do you need a copy of your slice? Please add an example

Which is weird. I have and old AMD CPU and never had an issue like this. Might be a very specific bug or something

The selected "node" could be a bit bigger, but oddly enough I've never lost track of what I have selected.

I think I can... yes, an example could be helpful.

Best regards!

Hi Walt -

For example if I have a big photo i want to mask with a small square.. after i mask, i may want to recolor the photo or adjust the saturation.. i dont see a way to do that right now.

I have an instagram grid with lots of overlapping content between the squares.. will artboard support that? If so then I'm all set!

Why do you need a copy of your slice? Please add an example

Try to imagine a huge instagram grid, 1 post per day for 30 days.

Which is weird. I have and old AMD CPU and never had an issue like this. Might be a very specific bug or something

I have attached an example of how artboards do not work for an instagram grid with objects that need to overlap the grid. because of this... 1 big artboard needs to be created and therefore... an instagram grid for 30 days requires me to draw 30 slices... painfully because slices can't be duplicated, don't snap to grid.. don't snap to guides.. etc.

I don't quite understand what you're doing there; possibly it would be more clear with your actual .afdesign file and some idea of what slices you're creating.

But off-hand, I might consider an array of Rectangles (easily created with Power Duplicate) with the array filled with a bitmap image. Then in the Export Persona, Layers Panel, it's one click to create slices for all the Rectangles.

Regarding gradients... the selected node in the gradient picker is fine... but on the object itself. it's not obvious which part of the gradient is selected... because i'm using very subtle colors on a very big gradient that goes up and down.. i can't tell if selecting the left or right node is the right one or not...

If I understand you correctly, this is what you want, right?

I am not familiar with Instagram, but, are you trying to have a single image, seamlessly divided into 30 squares? If so, I made this example for you to download (InstagramGrid.afdesign). See if this technique also helps besides what good @walt.farrell told advised you to do:

Put the design you want:

And then go to the Export Persona. There are 30 slices ready for you:

Simply export all of them in one go:

They could add a more prominent color on the selected node, that's true.

Best regards!
