In Windows 10, it is possible to take a screenshot by pressing PrtScn key. 

Via Preferences --> Ease of use --> Keyboard, you can also use it to call up the Snipping Tool. Once you are on the settings page, scroll down until the text 'Print Screen Shortcut' appears. Tap the On/OFF slide button to on, if it not set.

This can be used to define areas of the screen in a square shape or as a freely defined area, to mark individual windows or to take a screenshot of the entire height and width of the screen.

The screenshot can then either be roughly edited or/and saved or it can be pasted from the clipboard into other applications.
