I deleted the white background from a bunch of images but the border stayed the same size as the image. In my previous software the border would automatically shrink to fit. I have looked around but cannot find the option to shrink the border to the object. Also am not sure if this is a photo or designer feature.

All of the images are in one document, so i cant just change the document size either

Hi,

assuming you are using Photo and what you are calling an object is a pixel layer with opaque pixels (the object) surrounded by transparent pixels, extending to the complete canvas area.

You can use rasterize & trim to get rid of unneeded transparent edge pixels, but limited to the rectangular bounding box.

Another more complex option is to use a curve shape as clipping path.

  1. create a curve shape to define bounding curve.
  2. nest pixel layer to curve.

FWIW, Rasterize & Trim is available in all 3 Affinity apps (& so is the nesting method).

As far as I understand, possibly "Clip Canvas" (menu "Document" of AfPhoto) is what you're searching for?

I think the OP wants to reduce the size of the "border" (probably bounding box) of certain "image" (probably pixel) layers in a document with multiple image/pixel layers. I do not think "Clip Canvas" will work for that.
