Edit All Layers button

This only works with a special layer created in Affinity Designer Layers.afdesign

This allows you to work with many objects in a particular layer, ignoring everything except this layer.

This way you can work with a very complex design without being afraid of accidentally moving objects on the bottom layers.

You can also change the layer label color, by right-clicking on the layer > Properties. This will also change the bounding box color.

@telemax, it is nice to see some short, highly-targetted tutorials like this. However it is not all that clear as to what is the target  the 'Edit all layers' button, or the second-from-the-right button.

For example, while working on the map, being in the "Buildings" layer, you can not be afraid of accidentally selecting / moving roads, trees that are in other layers (if the "Edit All Layers" button is not active).

The button on the right-bottom, creates a container-layer, for which the "Edit all layers" solver works.

It works with Layer layers, or with Artboards.

Both can be used in Photo, though you need Designer (or Publisher, for a Layer layer) to get them created originally.

[hair splitting/]you don’t need designer. You need one document containing that layer type, possibly created by another user with designer[/hair splitting]
