augustya Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Hi Guys, Just wanted to know if I have opened a Picture in Affinity Photo for some reason If Zoom out and Zoom in and then I want to know what ws the true size as in Length X Breadth the way to again bring back your Photo to its original size is click on Navigator Studio and Hit Fit right ? Also is the Selection Brush Tool in MAC Version of Affnity Photo and Smart Selection Brush Tool in the iPad Version the same ? Quote
Staff Callum Posted June 11, 2021 Staff Posted June 11, 2021 Hi Augustya, Zooming in or out doesn't change the size of your image just the zoom level of the canvas. Going to View > Zoom and hitting 100% will get the zoom level back to default. Yes these two features are functionally the same. View tool is just for panning around a zoomed document. You need to use Navigator Studio to access 100% view setting. You can double tap with one finger to get the image within screen boundaries but that won’t equate to 100%. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). No all I am asking is and trying to know lets say for some reason I zoomed in or out and I have lost the idea what was the correct size of my Image there is nothing on the screen to tell me that Fit to screen or 25% or 50% or Full image if you know what I mean. How do I know that after zooming in and out and if my image size is jumbled up how do I know what is the default size of my image ? Quote

Zooming in and out has no effect on the size of your document. It’s like moving closer to or further away from a building. Close up it looks bigger, more details visible, further back it looks smaller, less detail visible. The buildings size has not altered. Likewise an 8x10'' photo at 'correct' size (assuming you mean 100% of document size), won’t fit in my iPads screen, I’d need to pan around or zoom out to get the full view. There is no onscreen size display while zooming. You must use Navigator Studio to determine current view scale. If you want to know the 'actual size' of you document use Document menu Resize and look at the Context menu details. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). What I am asking is when I zoom in and after that when I zoom out I wanna know the default position of my Image. There is no indication on the APP when my Image reaches its default position/size to tell me this is your default image size/position. How do I do know that ? I wanna know the default position after I have zoom in and Zoom out. Quote

Default position as in the original length and breadth of my Photo ? How do I know after Zooming in and Out in Affinity Photo at how much zoom out position is my default photo size and position. No, the option you want is ‘100%’. The ‘Fit’ option makes it fit the screen height or width. It sounds as though ‘Fit’ is, as you suggested, the option you need after all! I apparently misinterpreted your reference to the ‘original’ length and breadth. So If I want my image to look as it looked when I imported the Photo from my Photos APP on my iPad I should click "Fit" and not 100% right ? Just confirming again 😃 Quote

Just confirming again 😃 You can easily test the theory by importing a photo from Photos and immediately pressing the ‘Fit’ button in the Navigator Studio. If the view changes then it isn’t doing what you expected. augustya 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
