RJR Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Hello. Not sure if this has been picked up but the short cut for the fill option found under edit, does not work. I am finding I'm am wanting to fill a new layer with a sold colour more often at the moment, and not having the short cut is becoming a real pain. This is the same in designer as well. any help would much appreciated. kind regards Richard. Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @RJR. It's working for me on Windows, but perhaps there's a Mac-specific bug. Can you confirm for us what release of Photo and Designer you're running, and where you purchased them? Also, what shortcut does the Edit menu say you should be using? Can you give us a screenshot of that menu? Does the menu agree with what Preferences, Keyboard Shortcuts, shows? There is no Edit > Fill in Designer so I'm now not sure what, exactly, you are referring to in this thread Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. GaryLearnTech Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 Hi @RJR I wonder if this might not have a simple explanation - if you haven't actually selected the Layer you want to fill, then the Edit > Fill(s) will be disabled. Select a suitable layer and the option is enabled. RJR Posted June 2, 2021 Author Posted June 2, 2021 Hi all thank you for your response. @GaryLearnTech yes that all works fine. its the short cut that's not working. @carl123 yes you are correct I thought designer had it as well. its photo I'm talking about. @walt.farrell yes it could be just a Mac specific problem. I'm using the latest version of photo which I brought from the official affinity website. I've attached two pics, one to show the short cut command and one to show that the short cut, is set to the Fill option. cheers Richard Quote
Old Bruce Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 You may need to change the setting for the Use F1, F2, etc .... in the OS Preferences. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
RJR Posted June 3, 2021 Author Posted June 3, 2021 YES! thanks @Old Bruce that's done the job 😀 Quote
