HaraldFfm
When trying to open a specific file type, eg. *.afphoto or *.jpg, this is not possible. It shows all possible files. It should be possible to select a specific file type to open and hide all the others.

Ron P.
Welcome to the forums @HaraldFfm, Thank you for posting that question. I've been using AP for about 4 yrs now, and did not know the All Documents was a drop-down menu where the file type can be specified. 😗😯 Quote Affinity Photo 2.4..; Affinity Designer 2.4..; Affinity Publisher 2.4..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Affinity use standard Open dialog from OS, so it's the same as in most applications. HaraldFfm
yes it works with the open function, but I have been trying to use it to add files to a new batch job, where it does not work. I just assumed it would be the same as open file. Edited April 22, 2021 by HaraldFfm improve understandability

GarryP
Your original post only mentioned that you were trying to open a file, not that you were adding files to a batch job. However, I can confirm that specific file types are not selectable via the drop-down selector within the Open dialog (however, see below) when adding files to a batch job on Windows 10. That said, you can enter, for example, “*.png” (without the quotes) into the search box to see all PNG files and then select them. Edit: Added a bit of missing detail. Edited April 27, 2021 by GarryP Added clarification. HaraldFfm

Initially I was assuming it would be the same function as open file. Learning never stops.
GarryP
You're welcome. It might be nice if we can specify them the other way too.

GarryP
I have tried to make my earlier response a bit more clear. To be specific, you can’t use the drop-down selector to choose the file type, they’re all bunched into one possibility.
