ashf Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 When I create a mask, it opens its layer tree automatically in 1.9. in 1.8, it wasn't so. Steps to reproduce: Quick Mask > click Layer Mask button of the Layer Panel. Quote
ashf Posted March 8, 2021 Author Posted March 8, 2021 Bump. Please move this to bug report section if this is not intended behavior. Quote

Staff James Ritson Posted March 9, 2021 Staff Posted March 9, 2021 Hi @ashf, this isn't a bug but rather the Windows behaviour is now consistent with Mac. Adding an enclosure layer should, by default, expand the parent layer so you can see the layer you have just added. If you prefer not to have this behaviour you can go to Edit>Preferences>User Interface and disable the option "Auto-scroll to show selection in Layers panel". Hope that helps! ashf 1 Quote @JamesR_Affinity for Affinity resources and more Official Affinity Photo tutorials

Ah, so "Auto-scroll to show selection in Layers panel" wasn't available on Windows til 1.9. Didn't notice it.(even though I have both platform) Quote

I believe it was just called "Show Selection in Layers Panel" in 1.8.5 - seems to do the same thing as regards "opening the layer tree automatically" Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Changed to on by default in 1.9. Quote
