Old Bruce
Hi and welcome to the forums @PeterBBailey, I have never had any problem with installing any of the Affinity applications here on Mac OS 10.14.6 (or 10.12.6). What OS are you running? Are you trying to open from the DMG disk image or are you trying to open it from your Applications folder? The latter is the best method. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

pbbailey
It's Mac OS 10.15.7, Catalina. Uh, I got the software from Serif itself. Thanks.
pbbailey
I'm opening it from the Applications folder, after installing it, of course.

From the perspective of someone providing software support, Peter, we cannot assume that users are doing things correctly. And there is really no "of course" that we can rely on. The questions need to be asked, because users do all kinds of unexpected things. "Unexpected things" includes, for example, opening the DMG and running the application rather than installing it. Then wondering later where the application has gone when they look for it and can't find it. Or, wondering later why, every time they "run" the application, MacOS needs to validate it. Yes, we've seen both of those happen, from reports here Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. firstdefence
Go to, or open System Preferences > Privacy & Security > General prior to opening the app and you will see an item that says "Allow for that particularly executable." Well that's what normally happens. It may also make it easier if you unlock on the general tab first. pbbailey
Sorry, Walt. I meant that I executed the install on the dmg file and then installed it by dragging to the App. folder. I did the Systems Preferences thing, firstdefense, but, I don't see anything regarding this particular executable.
pbbailey
Never mind! Thanks all for your help. I just uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times. Now I'm good. Cheers. firstdefence and walt.farrell
