Jowday Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 This can't be a deliberate design choice - in preview mode I still see the distracting grey borders around pages. So there is no way to view or preview a publication without this border? That is no good for presenting a publication at the desk or in a meeting room without exporting to PDF which is not an option if you try out changes with someone live. The amount of "What is that grey border?" questions alone... or "Please hide it" requests... brrr... affinityfan 1 "The user interface is supposed to work for me - I am not supposed to work for the user interface." walt.farrell Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 Good question. Not new with the beta, though. As a workaround: Preferences, User Interface, move the Background Gray slider to the right, lightening the background until it matches the border color. affinityfan 1 -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Thanks, @walt.farrell 🙂 Yes, yet another workaround is possible, but the user interface is supposed to work for me, I am not supposed to work for the user interface. Staff Gabe Posted February 4, 2021 Staff Posted February 4, 2021 Hi both, Issue logged. walt.farrell 1
User_783649 Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Hopefully we'll finally see this fixed at some point. I find this border very distracting and absolutely unnecessary, especially when we can freely adjust background color. I understand that in some cases it may be useful to have another element that helps to visually separate working content from background. But please, let us switch it off as well, at least in Preview mode — just like any other guides/bleeds/margins/rulers and etc.
