From the Curves adjustment dialog, when I choose Picker and click on an image, no matter if I have set the Curves to show me an isolated channel, the picking always appears in the Mater channel.

This is of no use for professional calibration.

Is there any way to pick to independent channel curves?

Nope. As soon as I click the image (or drag on it), the Curves dialog reverts to Master.

I don't even get a crosshair cursor. It shows the crosshair cursor momentarily when I leave the Curves dialog but it reverts to the arrow cursor as soon as I hoover over the image.

I get this in separated mode is that the mode you are working in?

although i'm seeing the channel name snap back to master but the point is added to the pre-selected channel

Yes, I'm working in Separated mode, in fact.
Let me check if it works in non-separated mode.

...

Ok, it works better in non-separated mode.

In separated mode it doesn't seem to add a new node to the curve, although the curve does change shape as we drag up and down.

If we close the Curves dialog and open it again, the nodes do show up.

Anyway, clicking while we have a channel chosen from the list, reverts back to Master.

By the way, it should be possible to simply click to add a node.

Also, hoovering on the image when in Pick mode, should display a preview in the curve where the node would be placed, after clicking.

Sometimes compositing professionals need to preview the luminosity area, before clicking.

We believe this is addressed in the latest Beta build and will be included in the future 1.6 public release
