designdeo
Affinity designer 1.8.6 with Big Sur 1.1 no longer recognizes .icc files in the Colorsync / profiles folder. Cannot configure a PDF for the printer without the PSOcoated_v3 profile. With the old version everything worked fine. Thank you
Staff Gabe Posted January 5, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 5, 2021 Hi @designdeo, Welcome to the forums and sorry for the delayed reply. We were closed over Christmas/NY. We are aware of this and it has already been logged with our developers. For the meantime, you can copy the ICC profile directly in : {user}/library/applicationsupport/affinitydesigner/profiles
j.schaef
Thanks for the tip. However, the Affinity applications purchased from the Mac App Store do not seem to create such a folder in Application Support. Publisher, which I did not buy from the Mac App Store, does create a has a folder in Applications Support. Is there a difference?
Staff Gabe Posted January 7, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 7, 2021 Sorry that would be in a different place: {user}/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Application Support/profiles j.schaef

I am starting to get a little frustrated now considering Ive owned this software for 3 months now and still I cannot import or use custom ICC profiles forcing me to continue my adobe subscription. When is the next update going to come?

Im starting to grow tired of this software and Ive not even produced one job from it yet. I literally fell at the first hurdle of setting up the document colour profile and I'm less than impressed to be honest. Maybe Adobe is the better software after all? I suspect you are not in the user's Libary folder: {user}/Library/Containers/Affinity Designer/Data/Library/Application Support/profiles This is the correct path. I have to agree with you, as nice as the Affinity software is, I don't understand why they don't react faster to such an essential problem as the colour profiles. For me, the software has nevertheless replaced the Adobe suite, because it regularly caused me grey hairs.

Old Bruce
That is the wrong place to look. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.5.5 | Affinity Photo 2.5.5 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.5 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Old Bruce
I don't know about the OS you are running but this should work if you replace the *** with your user name, the name you are logged in with. /Users/***/Library/Application Support/ Open a finder window and hit Command + Shift + G then put that in. Staff Gabe Posted January 8, 2021 Staff Share Posted January 8, 2021 Alternatively you could use Shift + CMD + G, and paste ~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Application Support/profiles

Finally, someone with an answer after 3 months of owning your unusable software! Now I wonder how affinity couldnt just say where the code was pointing to 3 months ago if it was that simple? andyjbell
did this work? I have had the exact same problem and only by following this last step was I able to find the folder to then place the icc profile into.
