Staff MEB Posted August 25, 2020 Staff Share Posted August 25, 2020 Hi Arp_148, You can export your projects as IDML files from InDesign and open/import them in Affinity Publisher. INDD files are not supported if that's what you are asking about. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Not sure what or how heavy you use Indesign currently but Publisher is not ready to be the mainstay page layout software yet. Good software for an amazing price but not a suitable Indesign replacement at the moment. Expect all sorts of funky things to happen if you are taking an IDML file and opening in Publisher. In some tests I have had weird little issues with placed PSD files in the IDML file. There will be others. If you are expecting you can just save everything as IDML and have a perfect copy open in Publisher you will be mistaken. Every job you open in Publisher should be gone over meticulously. Arp_148
An online converter INDD > IDML or > affinity, would be great taking up the race with adobe. Now I must keep InDesign, kind of forced also to pay for the rest of adobe suite due to their bussines model + pay for affinity (which I gladly do though). However that ends up somewere were its quite easy just to keep working with the suite Im used to. Is something in the pipeline ahead? But, personally, I doubt they plan to do anything with INDD files. You might look at this 3rd-party converter, but it's only for Mac at the moment.
