JamesMid
Hi, I am new to Affinity Publisher and Photo (Mac 10.14.6). I have been having trouble with Publisher since upgrading to 1.8.4. I constantly get the dreaded "spinning beachball" and a message that the program is not responding. Frankly, it's pretty frustrating. Blende21
Could you tell a bit more about the Mac you are on, and under which conditions response time is bad ? Anything to see on the Activities Monitor ?
JamesMid
I just upgraded to Mac 10.15.6. no difference. The slow down happens while working on a document, nothing special. What do I look for in the activity monitor?
Blende21
Which Ressource is running low: CPU, RAM, etc. For example you will use up a little chunk of RAM when adding elements to your project. With RAM there is a slider in settings to change the allocation. When the allocated slice of RAM is used, it may start to swap to disk, which slows everything. If there is enough RAM, moving that slider will improve performance. With other restrictions it may be harder to overcome. But analysis comes first. MarekGFX
+1, There is much longer loading time of the opening Publisher files after the latest update. Mostly happens when resource manager can not find resources but often even while opening pretty light (only typography/text) files.
