Char_Zard13
How do I get my text to have something around it like this? It's like an Outline box and I feel like its a pretty easy thing to add/make so I assume a feature Like this is already in Affinity Photo as well, its a very basic thing. Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions! Very helpful! Edited July 12, 2020 by Char_Zard13 To say thanks to those who responded and show I figured it out from their help. firstdefence
Take your pick… the bottom two examples are simple enough. The top one is also simple: Create text, add a rectangle Place text above rectangle Select both rectangle and text layer Use the menu option… Layer > Geometry > Subtract https://affinity.help/photo/English.lproj/pages/CurvesShapes/about_geometricShapes.html Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.3.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... carl123
Just add a red rectangle under your text Group them if you then want to move them together as a group Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.
GarryP
In addition to the methods above, I think it’s worth mentioning that in Publisher you can use Paragraph Decorations to put the text in a box which expands or contracts when the text changes. See my attached video for an example – note the settings for the Fill Decoration. (I realise that the OP asked about Photo but I still think it’s worth adding this all the same, just in case it’s useful to someone else.) 2020-07-12_08-34-50.mp4
Oval
Another workaround: the (creation and) use of appropriate fonts.
