Affinity Photo 1.8.3 no longer starts on Windows 10 2004

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Following the recent update to install Windows 10 Professional 2004; Affinity Photo 1.8.3 no longer launches! I uninstalled Affinity Photo to retry a clean installation and the installation does not start. I tried with the compatibility mode (Windows 8) and the administrator mode, nothing works :/

Sorry for my bad english 😅 I speak French

Alexandre

Hello,

The FAQ didn't really help me.

I tested with the compatibility mode with Windows 7 and Windows 8, the installation appears in the taskbar and closes immediately. The administrator mode has the same behavior. I tested with beta 1.8.4 and I get the same result.

I better stay in 1909 :/

The size of the download looks to be correct. I don't know if you've tried a fresh download but it might be worth a shot:
https://store.serif.com/en-gb/update/windows/photo/1/

Also, can you see if the beta has the same issue:
https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/115020-affinity-photo-windows-customer-beta-184650/

It might be worth us checking the log too (if there is one). Please open Windows Run (Windows Key + R) then paste the following string and press OK:

%temp%\AffinitySetup

In the window that opens, please select the most recently created folder, then attach SetupUI.log to your reply here.

This could potentially be an issue with corrupt colour profiles. Please see this thread from Leigh:

He suggests changing your colour profile to sRGB and attempt to install again.
