Hello there,

First of all I may say that the affinity software was great for designers. The quality vs price it's excellent.

But can't even understand how the most important thing in Publisher is missing! The capability of opening indesign files, how is this even possible? I have tons of indesign files to work and now I can't used them, when I bought the Publisher only to substitute adobe indesign.
Please figure it out a solution. Better that the import of pdfs, because most of people don't have all the files of indesign in pdf.

Cheers and please work on it, its struggling.

Cheers,
Patricia

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @missroofless.

InDesign files (.indd) are a proprietary and I think undocumented file format. To support them Serif would have to discover their format through experimentation, and continue to track changes that Adobe makes with new releases so they can update the Affinity code to support the changed file format. They have chosen not to take that approach.

Instead, Serif has chosen to provide support for InDesign's .idml files, which are a documented format intended for use by other programs.
