AliceinDesignland Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 This is my first time asking a question. Any wizard out there can help me to do this (image) I need to fill a shape and some very thin text using this exact colour/effect/(magic?) I've tried everything and I can't make it look like that? Sorry for the bother. And thank you for taking the time. Ps: this space is amazing you are all geniuses and I hope to one day have some knowledge to share! Quote
AliceinDesignland Posted April 10, 2020 Author Posted April 10, 2020 Thank you for sharing these. I tried to use them to make the effect I need, but it did not work Probably some mistake that I am making (newbie) The sides particularly have a very particular light/dark/depth that I'm not sure how to achieve with Designer. Not sure how to do it. Thank you for taking the time though. Quote
Wosven Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 You should try the layer Effects: And in those ones: Bevel-Emboss, 3D, Shadows, etc. If you test with those, you should manage to get what you want, or near. Have fun! Quote
v_kyr Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 You can try some styles from the forums resources section (like metal for example), there are several such styles which deal with gold or gold structures etc. Then when applying/trying out some of those styles, play with the FX styles panel settings (bevel, emboss, shadow ...) for certain of those. You can also manipulate the bitmap fill of a selected style via the fill tool, in order to change slightly it's shown bitmap structures. Further it's often useful to zoom in and out, in order to see how things look for thinner text fonts then. G13RL Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 You can also use an already created style, kindly provided by someone on the forum, for example here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/35866-some-metal-styles/&tab=comments#comment-176566 Quote
GarryP Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Unless I’m missing something, the original image looks like it only has an Inner Shadow Effect applied. See attached image where I have also used a Colour Overlay to quickly recolour the Bitmap Fill. Quote
