The new Collect feature creates a copy for every instance of the same graphic used multiple times in a document. See the screenshot for post-collect view of the Resources panel. This prevents me from editing the main file later and having them update en masse within the document.

The alternative would be to exclude these files from the collect but if I'm sending elsewhere, or just want all the artwork together in one place for archiving then I'll need to add in the 'master' graphics into the collect folder manually and update the links in the Resource panel.

Whilst I appreciate the Collect feature is massively useful, is there a reason for this default behaviour?

It isn't a bug as such, but the behavior here could definitely be improved, we should ideally be creating 1 image and linking to it 4 times.

I've logged this, thanks for the report
