leshido Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 When using the app in fullscreen mode (macOS Catalina) and clicking File -> New... , the New Document dialog opens in the desktop workspace rather than in the app workspace, shifting focus there.
Murfee Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 I have also noticed similar behaviour but I am not in full screen mode. If I have moved the app to a different workspace, the New Document panel opens in the workspace that the App originally opened in.
fde101 Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 It does that for me too (switches spaces). If you create a document from that window while it is in a different space, it does not then switch back to the space containing the document, which could easily be disorienting for a user who is not expecting the behavior. Canceling/closing the window doesn't switch back either. Command+Tab from another application brings up the New Document window without switching spaces, but clicking the application's icon in the dock if you first switch to another application first brings up the New Document window, then if clicked again switches to the full-screen space, leaving the New Document dialog open on the desktop space.
leshido Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 FYI - This is still an issue with Beta 1.8.2.4
Staff Sean P Posted March 16, 2020 Staff Posted March 16, 2020 Hi Leshido, Thanks for letting us know, and sorry for the delay in responding - I'll get this passed along to development.
