Recommended Posts

When you type to search for a font in Publisher 1.8 the program crashes.

1. Text box - write words and select them

2. go to fonts roll out and type to search a specific font

CRASH

1. Text box - select words

2. go to fonts roll out and scroll to manually select a font - type a letter for faster selection

CRASH

This has happend several times with two different documents.

MacOS 10.15

About a 100 fonts installed.

We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Crash typing into Font box) of the program in the latest customer beta. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below.

The latest beta builds are downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts.

These betas install parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version.

Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.1/1.8.2 update/patch to all customers.

I encoutered the same problem now.

When I type just one character into Font search box, program silent crash, no error message.

It happens in Publisher, Designer and Photo - all build 1.10.5.1342 on Windows11

Same build on Win10 doesn't have this bug.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, Dan.

I'm not sure why you posted this in an ancient pre-1.10 topic, rather than finding/using one of the very current threads (from the past few days) about this happening in 1.10 with Windows 10 or 11 :)

A Moderator may end up moving or splitting this (or they may leave it alone).

In any case, please see any of the more current threads about this, or simply refer to the FAQ article about this known issue that Microsoft has caused with some recent Windows updates:
