New drawing.
Draw rectangle (Rectangle Tool).
Select rectangle.
Press C on keyboard to select corner tool.
Nothing shows up in the Corner type on the context toolbar.
Click on one of the corners.
The corner node turns blue but still nothing on the Corner type.

Is it me?

Yes. ;)

But you can use the Corner tool without the shortcut? Is C still the shortcut of the Corner tool? Is a shortcut on your operating system colliding with the shortcut in AD? Maybe a reset of the shortcuts could help ...

😉

Thanks Joachim but I only found out about the shortcut when checking Help before asking the question.

If I draw a corner using a corner node, then the Corner type is highlighted and I can change it to suit but I would have expected to be able to set the Corner type before adjusting the corner.

If I draw a triangle using the Pen tool and select the Corner tool, the Corner type is highlighted as expected.

It's no great problem, more an observation.

Keep in mind that the corner tool is only available in Designer,

Hi Eddy-2,

This is working as expected .

You need to select the Corner node you want to change and click and drag it to apply a corner.  You should now be able to select a Corner Type and control the Radius :)

From what i can see (we had an issue logged with Dev at one point, where you could select the Corner Type first) its due to corner having a Shape Node, which doesn't allow for the corner type to be set.  By changing the Corner Radius, by selecting the corner node and moving it, the rectangle in this case being converted to curves, which then gives you the corner options.  I hope i've explained that well enough :)

Hello again stokerg.

It's a very good point you've raised about quick shapes being entities in their own right, rather than being curves.

The penny's dropped 😉.

Edit:

This explains why I couldn't put corners on a picture in Publisher using the Designer Persona.

Now, after converting the picture to curves, I can do it.
