mrcrtoon
Entered type/title >select type>layer>convert to curves>convert to text frame. I can edit the paths but can not fill or stroke the letter. You would think once the letter has been converted to a vector, filling it with a color would be no problem. GarryP
Welcome to the forums. When you convert a shape to a Text Frame, the Colour/Swatch/Stroke Panels refer to the text in the frame and not the frame itself. Designer does not have any tools for formatting the text frame, but Publisher does.

Once you had it as curves, what was your intent with converting the curves to a text frame? It sounds like perhaps you should have left it as curves. mrcrtoon
I wish to manipulate individual anchors on the letter. After "convert to curves" all that does is put the word in a box making it only possible to resize, drag and stretch. I wish to customize the individual letters. As in Illustrator I should be able to create outlines of text and manipulate them as if they were a vector shape.
Staff MEB Posted November 19, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 19, 2019 Hi mrcrtoon, Welcome to Affinity Forums When you convert the text to curves the output (the letters) are all placed inside a group - check the Layers panel. Click the small arrow on the left of the thumbnail there to expand the group and access each layer (letter) individually then switch to the Node Tool to edit them on canvas or alternatively double-click the letter you want to edit on canvas with the Move Tool or Node Tool selected. This will allow you to select the letter directly for editing rather than the whole group. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

mrcrtoon
THANK YOU, much appreciated. Trying to figure out ways to do things now that I have switched to Affinity, a re-education after using Adobe products for over 35 years. h_d
